I would LOVE to leave these guns a 5 star review, and I am perhaps the singly most qualified person to leave a review of this nature, and allow me to explain.
I love the idea of “having guns where you need them, when you need them.” In other words, stashing a gun here, another there, and this gun met that description with absolute PERFECTION. I bought one when I first learned of them a couple of years ago, and then another. Then another, and another. Based on the serial number that you buy, there are slight variations in terms of where the spare rounds can be stored (and how), as well as the attaching mechanism of the barrel to the rest of the gun after if pivots up and down to close.
I WANT to love this gun. I love the size, I love the feel, and frankly it IS accurate “enough” for what it is. I have quite literally put over 1,500+ rounds through my various Lifecards (full disclosure, I have never owned the .22WMR version, only the .22LR, but I suspect the same flaws apply there).
The GOOD:
Highly concealable, SHOOTS reliably (more on that later), accurate enough, super fun factor
The Not-SO-Good:
This gun has a problem that I consider WORKABLE, but they COULD (and should fix this). The little spring things on either side of the gun, SHOULD be larger and wider. These are what you depress down in order to “open” the gun into its full “gun-mode”, but they are a bit “sharp” and will eat into your thumb and index finger, or whichever fingers you manage to use to open this little piece. They could round out the edges, and make this at least TWICE as big and it would make opening the gun in a hurry MUCH easier. This might not seem like all that big of a deal, but this gun in a stressful situation could use all the help it could get in terms of ergonomics.
The BAD:
This is the deal breaker to me. AND the MOST FIXABLE aspect that I have even messaged the owner about, and he politely thanked me and then proceeded to take no further action. The problem here is that once you fire a round, OFTEN times you will get the little .22LR case/casing STUCK in the chamber. Again, these would not be easy to reload under normal circumstances, but once stuck, you need a knive or something similar to PRY out the case in order to fire another round. NOT FUN! I have had this happen to me DOZENS of times over the course of 1,500 rounds over the course of months and months. This CAN be SOLVED by ever so slightly enlarging the actual case chamber, or better yet, creating a SLIGHT half moon cut in the steel so that a FINGERNAIL could fit underneath the case rim (these are RIMMED ammo with .22 after all) and then properly rim the case OUT of the chamber. In fact, I tool a file and manually FIXED the gun myself to ensure that I could do this. No issues, and now it works GREAT! They STILL get stuck (on any one of my five Lifecards, so it isn’t just a “lemon”) but now I CAN get them OUT as needed finally.
Again, I emailed the founder, HE RESPONDED, but hasn’t issued any new updated to the Lifecard in over a year since I first reached out.
If they would just fix these clearly fixable problems, this gun would be PERFECT… for what it is. I am not trying to hold this gun to any standard beyond what it is TRYING to accomplish, but for that standard, it currently shoots shy of the mark.
